Commercial Pilot License (CPL)
From private pilot to professional with the CPL MEP Training

Become a Professional Pilot CPL-MEP
The Commercial Pilot License – Multi Engine (CPL-MEP) training at Wings over Holland is designed for pilots who aspire to a career in commercial aviation. This training allows pilots to fly professionally on Multi Engine Piston (MEP) aircraft. To participate, a pilot must have at least a PPL (Private Pilot License), 150 flight hours at the start of training and 200 flight hours when the CPL certificate is issued. In addition, a Night Rating is required and the pilot must be medically cleared to Class I standards.
Training consists of a combination of hands-on and simulator training. Pilots attend a minimum of 20 hours of dual control training (DBO), which includes navigation, instrument flight and advanced procedures. In addition, training includes 5 hours of simulator training and, if necessary, an additional 5 hours of instrument flight training on a DA40NG. Part of the training is flown on a DA42D Twinstar, a complex multi-engine aircraft required for MEP training. Theory instruction is provided externally by Orbit Groundschool in preparation for the required theory exams.
Completion of the CPL-MEP course is followed by a practical exam consisting of an approximately 1.5-hour exam flight on a DA42D Twinstar. For pilots with a Basic Instrument Flight Module or IR rating, certain modules may be exempted. With a Multi Engine Piston Instrument Rating and a CPL-MEP license, pilots can step into a professional flying career, whether in commercial aviation or as an instructor.
