Multi Engine Piston (MEP)
MEP Class Rating - Fly multi-engine and increase your capabilities.

Multi Engine Piston Fetching
The Multi Engine Piston (MEP) training at Wings over Holland is designed for pilots who want to learn to fly multi-engine aircraft. To participate in the course, a pilot must have at least a PPL (Private Pilot License) and have flown 70 hours as a pilot-in-command (PIC). In addition, a valid medical examination is required.
The MEP training consists of both a practical and theory part. Practical training includes a minimum of 6 hours of flying on a DA42, during which pilots learn general MEP flight procedures and simulated engine failures. The theoretical component includes a minimum of 8 hours of training, which is covered during practical training.
Completion of MEP training is followed by a practical exam, consisting of an approximately 1-hour flight with an examiner. A Multi Engine Piston rating allows pilots to advance their aviation careers. This certification is not only a requirement for commercial pilots, but also offers private pilots more opportunities within general and commercial aviation.

What is an MEP?
A Multi Engine Piston (MEP) is a category of aircraft with two piston engines, providing more power and additional safety options. Flying a MEP requires special training, including mastering engine failures and asymmetric flight.
The MEP class rating is valid for 2 years and can be renewed through a pro check or recent flying experience. MEP aircraft are widely used in commercial aviation and advanced flight training, making this competency an important step for pilots looking to expand their careers.
